"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise- in God I Trust and I'm not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" Psalm 56 3-4
College can be like a monkey on our back. Stressing over exams, worrying about a friend going down the wrong path, or even being afraid of going out at night and getting lost. Whatever the case, fear is in our lives and sometimes it is overwhelming. However, when you think about it "fear never accomplishes anything, courage and faith did that." Jesus knows were going to be afraid because he's been down our boat, but we just need to trust in God because perfect love casts out fear. Look at Hebrews 11 for examples. Here are just a few:
1. "By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was invisible." Hebrews 11:3
2. "By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac, his one and only son, as a sacrifice." Hebrews 11:17
3. "By faith Moses' parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict." Hebrews 11:23
Fear may be in the world but it doesn't have to be filling our hearts. Great lives with great stories are files with faith, risks, and sacrifices. So, what kind of story are you living?
